The Chamber has a number of programs and functions throughout the year that afford members the opportunity to meet other businessmen and women in the London/Laurel County area. And, guess what? They want to do business with you as much as you want to do business with them! These are typically the “Who’s Who” of businesses locally and we strongly encourage you to get out and meet other Chamber members; we see very positive results coming out of these networking opportunities every day.
Each year, the Chamber strives to find top-notch presenters and keynote speakers for our membership. Helpful training through seminars and workshops has always been an emphasis of our Chamber, and we will strive to determine what our members need most and continuously improve on meeting these needs.
The Chamber has conducted over 120 ribbon cuttings and special business events in the last two years alone. More impressively, despite more widely spread difficult economical times, our Chamber was a part of over 20 ribbon cuttings throughout the last quarter of 2008 alone. Considering such amazing growth occurred during an obvious down-turn in our national economy, these statistics speak highly of the opportunity that exists here within our city and county.
Each month we are proud to distribute, network-wide, an up-to-date publication about our Membership, our Chamber and our community. This is one of the most targeted business publications available in our area, providing a great resource for sharing news, company milestones, and new or newly promoted personnel. There are also low-cost, targeted advertising opportunities available for members as well.
We both allow and encourage our members to provide member-to-member discount opportunities through our email database (now eight-hundred members strong). Just think, an exclusive way to get your offer out to almost 800 “decision-making” businessmen and women in the London/Laurel area. The best part; it’s all free for members!
Save big bucks by utilizing the Chamber’s Bulk Mail permit. If your company is mailing more than 200 direct mail pieces, why pay the normal postal rate? This service is available and encouraged through the United States Postal Service and there are no mailing limits.

As a member of our Chamber, there are a number of exclusive advertising offers that are available to you. Newsletter, website, event, membership luncheon sponsorships, among many other things to help provide visibility and networking opportunities for your business.
Did you know that the Chamber’s website receives over 2 million hits per year? This is a valuable tool for member exposure for sure. As part of your membership we offer an online profile of your business/organization, a link from our website to yours (and vice versa), and of course, a listing on our website membership directory (distributed both online and annually in print).
The Chamber is involved in a number of local activities/events throughout the year, which often provides many co-sponsorship opportunities to members who wish to increase their visibility. Our annual membership banquet, monthly membership luncheons, Red, White & Boom (annual 4th of July celebration), World Chicken Festival, Laurel County Homecoming, Christmas on Main, Chamber Golf Classic, job/career fairs, and Farmer’s Market, just to name a few. Whether the Chamber is the organizer of the event or simply lending a hand, we are always happy to be a part of any worthwhile community event.
